Dr Paula Ulrich graduated from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.  She was part of a mixed animal practice in Iowa and was a part-time surgeon for an SPF swine facility until 1993.  She and her husband, Dr Tim Ulrich moved to North Carolina where she joined the practice in Maiden.  Dr Ulrich has 3 children, the oldest, Logan is married to Amanda, his high school sweetheart; is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and is living his dream of being a sportswriter.  Her daughter, Rebecca is finishing school at High Point University and applying for PhD programs.  The youngest, Micah is hard at work studying engineering at NC State.  The Ulrich’s currently have 3 cats.  Each pet has a story.  Peppermint was abandoned as a very young kitten 11 years ago and was bottle fed until she was old enough to be adopted by the staff at Maiden Small Animal Hospital.  Luke and Earl were found taped inside a box at the dump with their sister Zelda.  Logan and Amanda adopted Zelda and Luke and Earl ended up as part of the family as well because who had the heart to leave them behind?
Dr Ulrich enjoys camping, spending time with friends, church activities, traveling and reading.  She and her family have lived in Uganda working in community development and South Africa teaching in an animal health program.

Dr John Martin received a BS and MS degree from NC State University, a DVM degree from Ohio State University, and completed a residency in Theriogenology at the University of Florida.  He practiced farm animal veterinary medicine in Maiden for many years and retired in 2014.  He currently assists part-time at the Maiden Small Animal Hospital.  He enjoys studying Italian and Roman art history and watching NC State Wolf Pack sports.

Crystal Lawing, RVT graduated from Gaston College Vet. Tech. program in 2002 and has been here at Maiden Small Animal Hospital since 2001.  She married Chad Lawing in 2005 and has 2 girls, 3 dogs & 5 cats.  She enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, event planning & volunteering at their school. 

Sarah Rudisill graduated from Gaston College in 1997 and worked here for many years until she left to be a stay home mom.  She married Shane Rudisill in 2005 and has 2 girls, 1 dog and 2 guinea pigs.  Luckily she returned in 2016 once the girls were both in school.

Sandy Dalton started here in 2006 as a vet assistant.  She married Aaron in 2006 and they have 1 son Leland, 2 dogs, 3 cats, chickens & horses.  She enjoys camping, softball, riding horses, anything outdoors & spending time with her family.       

Christian Williams started as kennel help in 2015 and now is a vet assistant when home from NC State where she is an Animal Science student.  She is pursing veterinary medicine and hopes to become a mixed animal Veterinarian.  She loves science as well as art, music and hiking.  In her spare time she loves to be outdoors with her dog Mika and read a good book.

Savannah Dunn started as kennel help in 2015 and now is a vet assistant when home from Liberty University & also works part-time at an eventing stable.  She plans to attend vet school after graduation and pursue veterinary medicine.  She has 3 younger sisters, a cat named Sami & a Doberman named Koda.  She enjoys watching movies, riding horses, reading and spending time with her family.
